English: Former Co-op shop, Middlestown, Sitlington. This was quite a large store for a village, which was growing at the time, perhaps due to its position on the main road and near to coal mines. Middlestown did not attract any large-scale industry and never became a town; it is now a rural suburb of Wakefield.
