English: Former Reigate Corporation Electricity Works situated in a former sand quarry off Wray Common Road which was in operation as a local power station from 1901 to 1936, originally authorised by the Reigate Electric Lighting Order of 1897. The quarry was served by a siding off the Redhill - Reigate railway, which was then also used to serve the electricity works. Part of the site is still used as an electricity substation. This view, screened by a fence and small trees, is from Madeira Walk, which overlooks the former quarry site on both sides.
