English: An exequatur signed by Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1938 to authorize the French Consul General in New York City, Charles de Ferry de Fontnouvelle, to conduct diplomatic business for France in the U.S. Exequaturs were sealed with the Great Seal of the United States, and their use was discontinued by the U.S. in 1971.
