DescriptionFrog rescued from Haikou market - 01.jpg
English: This is a common type of frog sold in markets as food, in Haikou, Hainan, China.
This particular frog, named "Elba", and sometimes "Greener", was rescued from a market, purchased for 2 yuan. It is about 14 cm long, smaller than the others. It now lives in a home in Haikou in a terrarium. It spends most of its time with only the top of its head exposed, even if there's muddy, wet sand there, instead of a depth of water.
A blob of raw meat will disappear if left nearby. If disturbed, it can jump quite high, and is quite strong.
