DescriptionGTW 5629 sitting in Penn Central yard in Chicago, Illinois.jpg
English: Grand Trunk Western steam locomotive 5629 is shown sitting in dead storage at Penn Central's Ex-Pennsylvania Railroad service yards outside the Chicago Union Station. No. 5629 had not pulled an excursion since 1969, but the locomotive's owner, Richard Jensen, planned to revive its excursion career by operating a Penn Central trip between Chicago and Logansport, Indiana, in April 1971.
After going through some insurance issues over arranging passenger cars for the run, though, Jensen cancelled the trip, and No. 5629 would never run under its own power again. Notice how its tender was full of coal that went unused.
