Built at a 'cost of £3 million', opened on 9 May 2005 by The Princess Royal on the site of the original staion which was closed in 1962 [aka Dr. Beeching]. This line [the Glasgow and Garnkirk] was one of the earliest railways in Scotland opened in 1831.
