English: George Aitken Clark Beside Paisley Town Hall which originated in a bequest by Clark and was completed by his family in 1882. The Clarks owned the nearby Anchor thread mills. The inscription reads "GEORGE AITKEN CLARK erected by the inhabitants of Paisley in recognition of his munificence to his native town 1885". Clark was born in 1823 and died in 1873.
