Summary

Description

Baseball card of George Moriarty, Detroit Tigers. T205 Gold Borders set. reverse

George Moriarty, the third baseman for whose services the Detroits paid a large price to the New York Americans in 1908, is an inventor and song-writer as well as a ball player. He is physically alert, as well as mentally, and one of the fastest men on the paths in the American League. He watches the pitcher's handling of the ball constantly, and if he is on third and the opposing battery gets at all careless, is liable to steal home on them. In 1909 he did this daring trick five times.
