Summary

Description
English: Plot of the orbits of the Gliese 876 system.

Orbit data taken from Rivera et al. (2010), arXiv:1006.4221v1 [astro-ph.EP] "The Lick-Carnegie Exoplanet Survey: A Uranus-mass Fourth Planet for GJ 876 in an Extrasolar Laplace Configuration"

The configuration is given in Table 3 and the orbits are taken to be coplanar. As described in the paper, the mutual inclinations between the orbits are low, justifying the coplanar orbit plot.Planetary positions are given for the epoch of the orbital solution in the table, note that due to strong planet-planet interactions the orbits evolve rapidly with time.

The diagram is plotted centred on the barycentre of the total system, and each orbit has as its focus the barycentre of all objects in inner orbits, thus the star and the planetary orbits are displaced from the centre of the diagram.
