Gordon Walker was born in Ontario in 1891 and educated in Manitoba. In 1920 he was appointed farm manager at the Claresholm School of Agriculture. Walker served as a delegate for the Alberta Wheat Pool, secretary of Alberta Telephone Company, and as a member of the Claresholm Hospital Board. Walker was elected as a UFA candidate in the Claresholm electoral district in 1926, and again in 1the 1930 election in the new district of Nanton - Claresholm. He was defeated in 1935 by Social Credit candidate Harry Haslam.
