DescriptionGrand Ole Opry souvenir picture album circa 1957.JPG
Photos from a souvenir book "Souvenir Picture Album-WSM-WSM-TV-Special Fair Edition-Grand Ole Opry".
Date
1957. The biography mentions Kitty Wells' duets with Webb Pierce which were done in 1957. The photo of the stars in front of the RKO Palace shows the marquee where Edward G. Robinson's Illegal is playing. This was a 1955 film. Wells' husband, Johnnie Wright, and Jack Anglin, were a duo of Johnnie and Jack as seen in the photos. Anglin died in a 1963 auto accident.
Because I was not able to view all pages of the booklet, a copyright search was done at copyright.gov for Grand Ole Opry and WSM. The only entry for Grand Ole Opry copyrighted in 1957 was a renewal for a song book by Hilo Brown. The next renewal is for a Hank Snow recording in 1973. Nothing applicable to this booklet was found.
A search for WSM was also done at copyright.gov; the earliest entry for that is from 1986.
While I believe the booklet was never copyrighted, I have licensed it as copyright not renewed, based on the information above. Nothing indicates there are claims on this material.
Note that it may still be copyrighted in jurisdictions that do not apply the rule of the shorter term for US works (depending on the date of the author's death), such as Canada (70 years p.m.a.), Mainland China (50 years p.m.a., not Hong Kong or Macao), Germany (70 years p.m.a.), Mexico (100 years p.m.a.), Switzerland (70 years p.m.a.), and other countries with individual treaties.
