English: Gravestone of Ahmad bin Ibrahim (1927 – 21 August 1962) at Bidadari Garden at 10 Vernon Park, Singapore 367812. A union leader, Ahmad was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Singapore as an independent in 1955. He was co-opted into the People's Action Party (PAP) Central Executive Committee in 1956, and ran under the PAP's ticket in the 1959 general election. He served as Minister for Health (1959–1961) and as Minister for Labour (1961–1962) (the office is now known as the Minister for Manpower), before dying in his 30s following a prolonged illness.
