English: BUILT IN 1750 BY SAMUEL HALE AND IN 1776 WAS OWNED BY DANIEL BYRNES, A MILLER. WASHINGTON HELD A WAR COUNCIL IN THIS HOUSE ON SEPTEMBER 6, 1777 TO COORDINATE THE DEFENSE OF WILMINGTON.
REF. # 72000290 NOTE! THERE IS CURRENTLY A PICTURE ON THE LISTING WHICH IS FROM THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS. THE HOUSE TODAY LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THAT PICTURE. APPARENTLY EITHER THE WHITE PAINT OR THE STUCCO HAS BEEN REMOVED TO NOW SHOW THE ORIGINAL BRICK. PERHAPS THIS PICTURE COULD BE ADDED TO THE GALLERY TO BRING THE SITE UP-TO-DATE
