DescriptionHP 6890 Gas chromatogram-mass spectrometer used on CSI.jpg
English: An HP 6890 gas chromatogram, coupled to an EI mass spectrometer. This instrument was originally used as a prop in the TV show CSI, where it never ran an actual sample. When the show ended, the machine was sold on eBay, and purchased by the Dalhousie University Chemistry Department. Since 2016, the machine is used in the undergraduate analytical lab by students in the third year analytical chemistry course.
