DescriptionHassendean Station (geograph 2915199).jpg
English: Hassendean Station This is a scan from a black and white photo I developed and printed in 1991. The station was on the Edinburgh to Carlisle Waverley Route one mile south of Minto Kames and four miles northeast of Hawick. The Waverley Line was closed in 1969 but the station buildings have been restored and converted into a dwelling house and architectural practice office. The footbridge has also survived and the former waiting room on the left beyond the bridge is now the architectural practice office. I had the pleasure of talking to the owner in this office at an open day on 28th August 2010. For a view of the footbridge taken on the open day, see NT5420 : The old footbridge at Hassendean Station.
