Description No. 114 Squadron RAF bombers attacking the German airfield at Herdla before the Operation Archery raid against German-occupied Norway. The tail-wheel of the aircraft taking the photo is visible at the top of the image. Several Luftwaffe planes are visible on the airfield, together with rising clouds of snow particles thrown up by shrapnel and machine-gun fire..
