Text verso on a label: dezelve hoog 17½, breed 24½ duim, p... gezigt op den dam. en stadhuis te amsterdam, benevens een gedeelte der stadswaag en de nieuwe kerk, zeer rijk gestoffeerd, met een menigte figuren, paarden en koopwaare, uitvoerig en zonagtig behandeld. Text verso on a label: G. Berckheyden. Stadsgezigt. 80. Gezigt op den Dam te Amsterdam, ziende op het Stadhuis en de Nieuwe Kerk, terzijde de Waag, rijk en eigenaardig gestoffeerd met vrachtsleden, kooplieden, rondventers en eene menigte figuren in verschillende kleding, uitmuntend en zuiver van kwaliteit, H. 44, B. 60 p. Text verso on a label: exposé à amsterdam en 1845 aux noms de gerrit et job berckheyde. gerrit berckheyde, né à haarlem en 1638, mort en 1698. il a peint plusieurs fois ce même sujet, peut-être our des membres du conseil municipal d'amsterdam. il en existe un exemplaire au musée de cette ville, un autre à bruxelles. celui-ci est le plus beau. Text verso on a label: les mesures ne sont pas les mêmes que celles du catalogue de la vente ryfsnyder, mais c'est le même tableau. j'ai fait ôter une bande en bois dans le bas, que l'on avait ajouté un panneau au XVIIIe siècle, pour lui donner les mêmes dimensions qu'un pendant. |
