Español: Entre los años 8000 y 2500 antes de Cristo, ocupan estas tierras bandas de cazadores - recolectores, las que se trasladaban desde la costa en busca de alimentos. Paulatinamente estos grupos alcanzaran una forma de vida más desarrollada en lo que se refiere a la agricultura, especialmente maíz, y asociada a la caza del guanaco. Entre los años 300 antes de Cristo y 200 después de Cristo, irrumpen en el valle poblaciones agroalfareras originarias del noroeste argentino. De estos grupos provienen los primeros testimonios arqueológicos del pasado de Salamanca, como lo atestiguan los hallazgos de las localidades de San Agustín, Arboleda, Chillepín, Panguesillo, Chalinga y Salamanca mismo.
English: Between 8000 and 2500 BC, these bands occupy land hunter - gatherers, which moved from the coast in search of food. Gradually these groups reached a lifestyle more developed in regard to agriculture, especially maize, and associated hunting guanaco. Between 300 BC and 200 AD, burst into the valley agroalfareras populations originating in northwestern Argentina. These are from the first archaeological evidence of past Salamanca, as evidenced by the findings of the towns of San Agustín, Grove, Chillepín, Panguesillo, and Salamanca Chalinga same.
