DescriptionHorse Stable at Springwood Estate August 2012.jpg
The photograph shows the horse stable at the Springwood Estate of FDR at Hyde Park. When Franklin D. Roosevelt was born in Dutchess County in 1882, there weren't any automobiles and horses were still the primary means of transportation. Horses no longer occupy the stable, but the original structure persists and has been maintained in good condition.
