Summary

Description
English: Two American soldiers sit on top of an abandoned concrete blockhouse on Burton Beach, just south of Burton Bradstock in Dorset. On the left, Corporal Bert Markowitz (of 30-46, 23rd Street, Astoria, Queen's, New York) plays his violin as T/5 G R Miller (of 4106 Vermont Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky) listens in the early evening sunshine. Behind them, the ridged rock of Burton Cliff can be clearly seen. The original caption states that Cpl Markowitz was a student at the University of Miami before the war and played with the NBC as a studio musician.
