Cet immeuble de style art nouveau (jugendstil) a été conçu en 1902 par l'architecte Konstantins Pekshens (K. Peksens : 1859-1928)

Cet immeuble se trouve dans la ville ancienne et non pas dans les quartiers art nouveau des rues Elizabetes ou Alberta. Les décors sont très raffinés et expriment l'idée du renouvellement de la Nature et des arbres qui poussent.

Riga, capitale de la Lettonie, est un parfait exemple de ville Art Nouveau. Son centre abrite la plus belle concentration de bâtiments Art nouveau au monde: plus d'un tiers d'entre eux appartiennent en effet à ce style.
