English: "Interior of John Leavitt's Tavern," watercolor, ink and pencil on paper, by artist Joseph Warren Leavitt (1804–1833). The folk art painting shows the inside of the tavern of the artist's father, John Leavitt, in Chichester, New Hampshire. The painting shows the Marquis de Lafayette on his 1824–1825 American tour. Lafayette is shown on the right of the painting, with Mrs. Morse, the artist's relation, shown sitting by the fire, with the figure of an unknown person in the middle room.
