NOTES ON ARECENT EXHIBITION There are two considerations whichare of paramount importance in formingeven the most casual critical estimate of anypainters work. These considerations are of equalimportance and consist, broadly, of the intrinsicvalue and sincerity of a painters ideals, and ofthe adequacy with which these ideals have beenadhered to. In a recent exhibition of paintings by EllaCondie Lamb there was an evident balance to beremarked between the dignitied and often austereideals of the work and the direct sincerity withwhich these ideals were approached.
