Summary

Description
English: Ionia was a region in western Anatolia that was colonised by the Greeks. It is here that philosophy arose. The first presocratics Thales, Anaximander and Anaximenes were citizens of Milete (Milesian school). Some later presocratics like Heraclitus were from nearby places.
