Hagia Sophia dome and other buildings were heavily damaged, with many fatalities. A comet was sighted on March 5, 1556 and seen for 12 days. Türkçe: 10 Mayıs 1556 Istanbul depremi. El boyaması ahşap gravür. Özel koleksiyon, Prag. 10 Myıs 1556 depreminde İstanbul'da meydana gelen hasarı gösteren renkli gravür. Ayasofya ve başka yapılar ağır zarar görmüş ve çok sayıda can kaybı olmuştu. 5 Mart 1556'da bir kuyruklu yıldız belirmiş ve 12 gün boyunca gökyüzünde görülmüştü.
