Description Cartoon titled "It will sink them" by Claude Marquet. It depicts the formation of the w:Commonwealth Liberal Party, commonly referred to as the "Fusion". The party's leader Alfred Deakin is shown as the head of a camel with John Forrest and Joseph Cook as its humps. The Dreadnought affair - the controversial acquisition of HMAS Australia - is shown as a loadstone around the camel's neck as it tries to cross over a cliff ("that risky majority", the party's small majority in parliament).
