English: Engraving of Leiden Mayor Johan Meerman in 1667. It is based on an anonymous painting of him where he is portrayed at age 43 in 1667, after a painting which was hanging in his son Gerard Meerman's house in Rotterdam in 1760. This engraving appeared in a monthly magazine (total number of issues 45) published by Isaac Tirion with historic sketches of Holland in 1760, called 'Hedendaagse Historie'.
