Polski: Jan Styfi (1839-1921) warszawski drzeworytnik czynny w latach 1859-po koniec XIX w., studiował w latach 1856-1857 w Warszawskiej Szkole Sztuk Pięknych, następnie doskonalił się w drzeworytnictwie w Lipsku, jako rytownik związany z "Tygodnikiem Ilustrowanym", a w latach 1865-1890 z "Kłosami" (w obu pismach jako kierownik drzeworytni), rytował również dla wydawnictw książkowych i kalendarzy, jeden z najwybitniejszych i najpłodniejszych polskich ksylografów.
English: Jan Styfi (1839-1921) engraver from Warsaw, active in mid to late 19th Century, studied art between 1856-1857 in Warsaw School of Fine Arts, than in Leiptzig; as an illustrator, connected with the "Tygodnik Ilustrowany" (1865-1890) and "Kłosy" magazines (in both as director of woodcut department), executed commissions also for book and callendar publishers; one of the most prominent Polish woodblock print artists also known as xylographers.
