DescriptionJulius Viedt grave - section Circle-Right North - Prospect Hill Cemetery - 2014.jpg
English: Grave of Julius Viedt in section Circle-Right North at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Washington, D.C., in the United States in 2014.
Prospect Hill Cemetery was added to the Register of Historic Places of the District of Columbia (a listing of historic sites maintained by the city) in 2005.
Viedt was the first president of the Washington Sängerbund, a German choral society founded in 1851 in Washington, D.C. The chorus still exists in 2014. The grave consists of three markers: An original 1893 limestone marker set flush with the earth over the center of the grave; a brass plaque added some years later to the foot of the grave; and a granite above-ground marker, placed by the Washington Sängerbund in May 2012.
