Καθε 4-5 χρονια, οταν οι μεγαλες ποσοτητες νερού συσσωρευτηκαν η μπλοκαριστηκαν, υπηρχε κατακρατηση νερού. Οταν η ποσοτητα του νερού, ηταν πολυ μεγαλη, διμιουργηθηκαν λιμνες. English: One of 7 Ponors of the southern part of the very large Tripoli-Plateau (polje). The plateau has no natural water outlet, which is a relatively frequent phenomenon in the Karstbasins of Arcadia (island of the Peloponnese in Greece). When precipitation of winters was exceptionally rich, the polje became flooded, until the second half of the 20th century even temporary lakes were possible. In such a case ponors became vital. Deutsch: Eines der 7 Ponore des südlichen Teils des sehr großen Tripoli-Hochplateaus (Polje). Relativ häufige Erscheinung in Karstbecken Arkadiens (nordöstlicher Peloponnes, Griechenland). In besonders niederschlagsreichen Wintern wurden große Teile des gesamten Poljes früher immer wieder nass, u.U. bildeten sich sogar Seen.
