English: Keepers Cottage, Wytham Woods Wytham, a gift to the University of Oxford in 1943, is primarily an area of scientific study and research because of the unique combination of habitats that it presents.
It is an SSSI, a third of the area is ancient woodland, mostly Hazel and Oak, another third is regenerated woodland of more recent origin on old pasture, and the rest is variety of plantations, some on old woodland sites, some on once open sites.
