DescriptionKosmos 1408 Numerica post impact debris cloud.png
English: This telescope image shows debris from the Kosmos 1408 debris cloud shortly after destruction by impact with Russia's A-235 "Nudol" anti-satellite weapon. The image was collected at 5:43:11 UTC on 15 November, 2021, shortly after destruction of the satellite and is the first publicly-available image of the debris cloud. The image was captured with a one-second exposure from a wide field-of-view 7 cm aperture f/2.0 135 mm focal length telescope stationed near Ouarzazate, Morocco. The field of view is oriented such that Kosmos 1408, had it not been destroyed, would have appeared at the center of the image.
