DescriptionKummarigullu Shiva Trikutalaya temple ruins, Nidigonda village, Telangana 24.jpg
English: Nidigonda is a historic village in Warangal district. It is about 100 kilometers northeast of Hyderabad and about 50 kilometers southwest of Warangal city.
The earliest inscription found in this village is from the late 7th or 8th century, based on the script. Several other inscriptions found here suggest that this was a prosperous town before the 13th-century. One inscription found in a historic water tank here is from 1104 CE by Kalyani Chalukyas. It is a gift to support a Hindu temple and monastery by the local chief and his wife, with support from the Kalyani Chalukyas.
The village has several temples in ruins. This Shiva temple is a large three-sanctum temple, but much of the temple is shattered into pieces and scattered in every direction in a way that suggests deliberate destruction. This happened in or after the 13th-century, during the Deccan Sultanate period.
The temple was a Shiva temple, since Nandi and other Shaiva artwork is scattered around.
