English: AWM Caption: Kumusi River, Papua, c. 1942-12-28. Aerial view from the window of a United States Army Air Force (USAAF) Douglas C47 aircraft of the Kumusi River snaking its way through jungle-covered terrain. The aircraft is transporting members of the 2/4th Field Ambulance from Popondetta to Port Moresby after the unit's four-month campaign along the Kokoda Trail. The flight back to Port Moresby took a mere 35 minutes.
