Description
English: The Soviet naval ensign is raised aboard large infantry landing craft (LCI(L)s) at Cold Bay, Territory of Alaska, as they are commissioned into the Soviet Navy immediately after their decommissioning by the United States Navy and transfer to the Soviet Union as a part of Project Hula. Redesignated desantiye suda (DS) ("landing ship") in the Soviet Navy, they took part in Soviet operations against Japanese forces in northern Korea in August-September 1945.
