English: The first national flag of the Province of San Salvador was designed by Manuel José Arce in 1822, based on the dark blue flag of Argentina of 1818-1820 introduced by Hippolyte Bouchard on March 18, 1819 when he arrived in El Salvador. The Argentine flag it's self was inspired by the blue color of House of Bourbon
