Non-free media information and use rationale true for Disc rot
Description

Photograph of a small portion of a single frame of the MCA Discovision 1981 CLV pressing (laserdisc) of the film The Electric Horseman

Source

Own photograph of playback of a rotted MCA Discovision disc

Article

Disc rot

Portion used

Tiny. Small, unimportant fraction (less than 1/8th) of a single field of a single frame of a feature film. Would not even be usable to replace a screenshot of the frame in question, and is damaged anyway (see purpose).

Low resolution?

Yes - although the photograph is a slightly higher resolution, the actual amount of the resolution is about 1/8th of a field of the original.

Purpose of use

To illustrate the visible effects of laser-rot on a laserdisc.

Replaceable?

I am unaware of any public domain content on a rotted laserdisc (since all LDs are post 1978). I would be happy to be corrected by a replacement screenshot.
