Summary

Description
English: Demonstration of the Lehman series-parallel inequality. If it is granted that closing the switch S cannot increase the resistance between the terminals (Rayleigh's monotonicity law) then (A + B) || (C + D) ≥ (A || C) + (B || D). The network is readily generalized to any number of rows and columns of resistors.
