The dark areas in this limestone (click once or twice on the photo to zoom in) consist of abundant subspherical oolites and irregularly-shaped peloids. Stratigraphy: upper Bonanza King Formation (less than 10 meters below the top), upper Crepicephalus Zone, almost uppermost Marjuman Stage, uppermost Middle Cambrian Locality: Marjuman Stage-Steptoean Stage boundary section, northeastern-most canyon/wash/alluvial fan on the eastern side of the Desert Range, northern Clark County, Nevada, USA (vicinity of 36° 44.048' North latitude, 115° 18.774' West longitude) |
