fair use rationale for image use on Love from a Stranger (play)
editThis image, Love_from_a_Stranger_First_Edition_Cover_1936.jpg is being uploaded here. The image is the cover of the front of the dustwrapper of the 1936 first edition published in the United Kingdom. The dustwrapper was issued by the publishers William Collins and Sons and is therefore probably still owned by HarperCollins although it was issued over the statutory seventy year limit as defined in UK copyright law. Though the picture is subject to copyright I (JohnTomlinson) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because the use of a page of a magazine to illustrate an article is allowed. The image has been scanned by myself from an original copy held in my possession and has then been reduced in size and cropped. The name of the artist of the illustration is not stated. This scan is purely for linking to the Wikipedia article on the novel Love from a Stranger (play) by Frank Vosper and Agatha Christie and no other use should be made of it.
Licensing
editThis image is of book cover(s), and the copyright for it is most likely owned either by the artist who created the cover(s) or the publisher of the book(s). It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of book covers
qualifies as fair use under the copyright law of the United States. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, might be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. | |
