Summary

Description Low Tide at New Brighton Pier. By 1977, the once-popular seaside resort of New Brighton, Cheshire, had become very run down. The Liverpudlians had decamped en masse to Spain as far as holidays were concerned. Large boarding houses stood empty or were used to house DHSS claimants, and the pier was unused. It was demolished shortly after this photograph was taken.
