Summary

Description

Matte silver gelatin photograph, 18 x 13 cm. Conseil National des Femmes Françaises, 1928, From the Album Jane Misme, "Journalistes françaises et confrères féministes"

Note that there was some contemporary (that is, from 1928) retouching. I've done what I can to reduce and restore this, but one can't tell exactly what was retouched away in some cases, so I just neatened it up. Compare the pre-restoration original, where the 1928 retouching is fairly obvious.

Description British
Image restorationist, composer, amateur photographer and artist, and Wikipedian
As Adam lives in Britain, which makes it incredibly easy to acquire copyright in his works, he grants, if needed, an irrevokable license to use this work however you see fit. He requests attribution where possible, and realises that "where possible" means that that request is not legally enforcable. Adam Cuerden (talk) 15:44, 16 January 2022 (UTC)

This is a faithful photographic reproduction of a two-dimensional, public domain work of art. The work of art itself is in the public domain for the following reason:
Public domain

The author died in 1947, so this work is in the public domain in its country of origin and other countries and areas where the copyright term is the author's life plus 75 years or fewer.

This work is in the public domain in the United States because it was published (or registered with the U.S. Copyright Office) before January 1, 1929.

The official position taken by the Wikimedia Foundation is that "faithful reproductions of two-dimensional public domain works of art are public domain".
This photographic reproduction is therefore also considered to be in the public domain in the United States. In other jurisdictions, re-use of this content may be restricted; see Reuse of PD-Art photographs for details.
