Photographer: Emily Redd of Caroline County, Virginia Taken: ca1830 Notes: This is the only known likeness of Luther Rice and is owned by the Virginia Baptist Historical Society. While visiting the family of Samuel and Elizabeth Redd in their home "Cedar Vale", in Ruther Glen, Caroline County, Virginia, Luther sat for his silhouette to be cut by the Redd's daughter Emily. The original is housed in the Museum of Baptist Convention of New England the at the Luther Rice Homestead in Northborough, Massachusetts.
