Summary

Description
English: Image of the MAST-13 (now known as Madfox) Autonomous Surface Vehicle, leaving the loading dock of HMS Albion.

HMS Albion hosted Exercise Autonomous Advance Force in March 2020 to show case the abilities of the unmanned projects.

47 Commando worked alongside HMS Albion and NavyX to trial unmanned technology in Norway. Exercise Autonomous Advanced Force looked at how the Royal Navy and Royal Marines could benefit from the latest technology and enhance future operations.

It put unmanned boat Mast 13, drone Malloy and remote-piloted aerial system Puma through their paces in harsh Arctic conditions and in an operational theatre alongside Albion.

It is the latest in a series of trials as part of the Royal Navy’s commitment to technology and innovation and the Future Commando Force concept.
