English: Plaque in the Via Castello, Malcesine, at the location, where Goethe tried to make a drawing of the castle, but was disturbed by inhabitants of Malcesine, who suspected him to be an austrian spy. Translation: "At this place J. W. Goethe drew the castle on September 14, 1786"
Deutsch: Gedenktafel in der Via Castello, Malcesine, am Ort, wo Goethe versuchte, eine Zeichnung der Burg zu machen, aber von den Einwohnern von Malcesine gestört wurde, die ihn für einen österreichischen Spion hielten. Übersetzung: "An dieser Stelle zeichnete J. W. Goethe am 14. September 1786 die Burg".
