Summary

Description
English: Print taken from John Foxe's Actes and Monuments, also known as Foxe's 'Book of Martyrs', first published 1563. The image is presumably meant to depict the execution of Richard Sharpe and Thomas Hale, who were said to have been burned on the same day (7 May 1557), since the other three executions of heretics in Bristol by Queen Mary only involved one person.
