English: The Matsuyama-castle is one of the three famous and large - multiple-wing castles in Japan. The Castle Tower was destroyed by fire in 1784,. However, when it was reconstructed in 1854, great care was taken to use traditional carpentry techniques and materials. Many of the castle buildings are designated as Important Cultural Properties. It is possible to walk up the hill (132m) to the castle or to go up by rope-way or chair-lift. The Matsuyama-castle is symbol of Matsuyama City. (Ehime, JAPAN).
