Description

EPA divers tend to scientific equipment on the ocean floor.

The Datasonde and PARs equipment pictured here can measure dissolved oxygen (which fish and marine life need to survive), as well as turbidity (clarity of the water), salinity (level of salt), pH (level of acidity), and Photosynthetically-Available Radiation (PARs) (sunlight which reaches the bottom and is still usable by marine plant life for photosynthesis).

This picture was taken in the Gulf of Mexico.
