English: Meelick Quay, Co. Galway Boats and a barge are moored at Meelick Quay on the Co. Galway bank of the River Shannon. On the Offaly side opposite, the overgrown blockhouse of Keeloge Battery is visible on Incherky, a large island in the Shannon. The battery, with emplacements for seven guns, formed part of the defence line along the river constructed during the Napoleonic Wars.
