Long Horn. The males of all the genera within the Eucerini clan (at least all the ones I can think of) have very long antennae. These are fast flying lovers of perennials. This particular one (Melissodes trinodis) favors things in the sunflower arena, big, open, tall flowers. They are usually the most common Eucerine on the Coastal Plain of the Mid-Atlantic states. This specimen came from the marshlands of Dorchester County in Maryland and the picture was taken by Dejen Mengis. Elizabeth Garcia-Lozano did a bunch of photoshopping. 21:34, 24 July 2017 (UTC)21:34, 24 July 2017 (UTC){{{{{{0}}}}}}21:34, 24 July 2017 (UTC)21:34, 24 July 2017 (UTC) All photographs are public domain, feel free to download and use as you wish.
